Product Development Associate - Calvin Klein

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Communicate with cross functional teams and vendors regarding all issues pertinent to accurate execution of samples throughout development process.

  • Work out of the box, multitask and juggle ad hoc projects and processes for quick & accurate turn around.

  • Proactive management of potential issues and drive to resolution with cross functional teams.

  • Be curious, Identify opportunities, risks and makes recommendations to the team and leadership.

  • Supports the product development and commercialization process working in collaboration with the internal / external cross functional partners (Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials, Technical Design, Sourcing, Hubs, Vendors and our factories) to deliver a product with a strong focus on meeting the business requirements for quality, aesthetic and timelines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

In season responsibilities for assigned product category

  • Assign seasonal National Retail Federation color codes in PLM/PDM

  • Create and maintain Master Style Status Tracker

  • Track and monitor development ratio

  • Release Design cards for salesman sample yardage trigger, prototype and salesman sample (SMS) technical packs (TP)

  • Work with supervisor to build products into target costs

  • Verifying and reporting costs to the business via the system up until SMS TP handoff

  • Support manager in initial development costing (this includes pre-costs to verify the style meets the cost targets prior to the tech packs being released)

  • Initiate, maintain and manage proto sample requests and costing requests in System

  • Partner with Customs compliance & Legal to confirm duty classifications

  • Track status and delivery details of the product samples

  • Support manager in leading weekly cross functional work-in-progress meetings

  • Review/Ensure tech pack accuracy for SMS in partnership with design, technical design

Product category management

  • Work with supervisor to create vendor strategy for each category/style in partnership with Hubs and Sourcing

  • Understanding of product costs – able to identify price distortions and engage cross functional partners for solutions

  • Ensure that the department calendar is executed according to plan and cross-functional partners are informed of calendar implications

  • Collaborate with PVH offshore offices and factories directly on daily tasks

  • Engage PVH offshore offices and/or Supply Chain Partners for solutions as it relates to business needs

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Product Development / Production

  • Understanding of Product construction and costing

Education:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree is required.

  • A textile/PD or manufacturing-related background is preferred.

Skills:

  • Experience in working with both development and production teams ( Design – Hubs-Vendors)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to meet team deadlines

  • Flexible and Adaptable to change

  • Solutions Oriented

  • Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent follow-up and follow through skills

  • Proficient in Excel. Ability to create, update, and format data for tracking and reporting by using pivot tables and formulas

  • Knowledge of PLM /WEB PDM/ Adobe a plus
