Director, Store Planning - Tommy HIlfiger

The Director of Store Planning is responsible to drive and manage the execution of all projects for Wholesale and Full Price Retail in US and Canada, along with US handbags and Domestic Licensing categories – Children’s and Footwear--to ensure TH standards are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Management and ownership of the Macy’s exclusive capex agreement working closely with the procurement/finance coordinator to manage budgets

  • Manage and support Retail design as drawings as needed

  • Manage the process and supervise Store Planners

  • Liaise with VP to design top doors, new initiatives, new fixture designs

  • Collaborate with Manager of Project coordination to do projections, strategize workflow and install schedule

  • Ensure all Planners meet the Tommy Hilfiger global store design criteria

  • Partner with Sales and Account to negotiate floor space with account to ensure optimal locations of our business

  • Travel with Sales and Field management to understand market needs

  • Daily interaction with vendors to ensure inventories are being utilized correctly and to maintain schedules

  • Partner with Visual Merchandising on a daily basis to develop flow of the shops, partner on shop installs and seasonal refreshers and marketing images

  • Work with Marketing and Visual Merchandising partner in any way needed for seasonal marketing initiatives and signage needs

  • Work with VP/Manager of Project Coordination to establish timelines

  • Attend installations when necessary

  • Review and approval of all shop layouts with project managers

  • Liaison with all Divisional Sales SVP’s and their teams on store moves and installs

  • Oversee the fixture call outs, up keep and maintenance management

  • Partner with VP on callouts, needs, changes requested by the divisions

  • Ability to draw up layouts and elevations to support the work flow

  • Review architectural files and work closely with outside architects

  • Review all shop drawings and partner with Design Concept Director

Qualifications:

  • College degree; Architectural Degree or Interior Design degree, preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in retail store planning and design

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, excel, MS Office and MS Outlook

  • Ability to review full construction sets and revise drawings as needed

  • Ability to review fixture shop drawings and comment as needed

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs

  • Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong time management skills

  • Executive level decision making on the ground

  • Influence strategy and decision making within scope of role

  • Responsible to provide day-to-day direction, including finding innovative solutions for resourcing issues

  • Ability to work in fluid environment with changing priorities required

  • Travel required

  • Lifting is required

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with adherence to deadlines

  • Detail oriented/innovative traits necessary

  • Must be able to find best solutions and developing methods to improve efficiency

  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing trends of business and projects

  • Problem solve and store design capabilities

  • Ability to think strategically and implement tactically is required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
