Director Merchandising, Men's Non-Denim - CALVIN KLEIN

The Director, Merchandising for Men’s Non-Denim is responsible for collaborating with the Design Leads and Channel Merchant Leads in order to build product assortment serving all channel needs.


  • Partners with Design & Sourcing to build seasonal assortments covering all channel needs to achieve sales and EBIT goals

  • Edit line

  • Collaborate on color/concept

  • Review sketches and print direction

  • Drive Fast track development

  • Collaborate on showroom aesthetic

  • Collaborate with channels, understand/represent business needs for all levels of retail and wholesale distribution

  • SKU Architecture

  • Builds balanced SKU plan aggregating channel needs to meet business goals as well as AUC targets

  • Structures in-season development strategy to account for off-cadence SKU development and speed to market

  • Own meeting cadence for SKU development for on-time calendar deliverable (collaborate with design, sourcing, channel merchandise)

  • Responsible for agreed upon development ratios in partnership with Sourcing and Design; track and report progress

  • Non-Denim brief and range plan for Amsterdam team

  • Fabric Rationalization

  • Develops fabric line plan to support SKU needs in partnership with Raw Materials, Sourcing, and Design to allow for strategic fabric positioning

  • Partner with design, sourcing, and raw materials to drive fabric leverage across channels

  • Development trips w/design

  • In-country proto reviews (Amsterdam)

  • Conduct continual market & trend research

  • Attend weekly retail business meetings

  • Attend wholesale Sales recap meetings and post-market hindsight for product feedback

  • Drive quarterly best sellers

  • Responsible for line finalization and go-to-market preparation

  • Ensuring final line meets brands esthetic, business needs, and cost targets

  • Guides visual team in showroom set up

  • Attend Weekly design/merchandise meetings

  • Attend Weekly work-in-progress (with Design/Sourcing)

  • Store visits (divisional and competitive, full-price and outlet)


Experience: 10 years in wholesale or retail merchandising

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required


  • Strategic thinking

  • In-depth product development knowledge

  • In-country development experience

  • Advanced excel skills

  • Elevated taste level with knowledge of designer market as well as fast fashion and younger demographic specialty market
