Director, Consumer Insights - Tommy Hilfiger

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director – Consumer Insights role will be focused on creating high value consumer insights and driving the effective adoption and application of those insights with the result being that key decisions along the value chain calendar are made with the consumer in mind. This person will have a proven track record of collaboration with cross-functional business partners to promote new ways of working as well as react to and support business needs when consumer insights are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and deliver action-oriented consumer insights for the Tommy Hilfiger North America business, across the retail, wholesale and licensing channels and be the champion for the organization to drive and sustain a consumer-centric focus

  • Serve as the key partner for the cross-functional teams in Marketing, Merchandising, Design, Planning, Supply Chain, Finance and Strategy to influence decision-making, improve business strategies, marketing programs, and product development processes through the use of consumer data and insights

  • Effectively communicate analytical findings such that key facts, insights and implications are clear and understood by those without analytics expertise; use of data visualization and other demonstrations or descriptions of information are important

  • Actively track performance and usefulness of insights provided to the business to ensure work is focused on providing value and insights are appropriate and productive

  • Develop and implement Tommy Hilfiger North America long and short term consumer insights strategy and roadmap

  • Establish the consumer insights delivery calendar and align deliverables to key decisions dates and collaborate with partners to ensure execution

  • Partner with Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH consumer insights teams to conduct consumer studies that provide actionable insights to the business

  • Maintain project priorities; properly and proactively set expectations with business leaders

  • Act as a trusted advisor with specific brand or channel business leaders

  • Collaboration with a wide variety of internal colleagues and stakeholders, particularly with fellow team members and brand or channel business leaders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-8+ years prior work experience in a combination of consumer insights, CRM, market research, and analytics experience with 2+ years in the apparel/fashion retail industry

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize customer analytics outputs such as segmentation or lifetime value and consumer insights outputs such as primary research, product testing feedback or third party data sources like Edited and NPD to build a consumable, action-oriented recommendation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to discuss complex information in an easy-to-understand manner with clear recommendations based on data-derived insights

  • Ability to lead a presentation with confidence

  • Comfortable in a rapid response mode where information or answers are sourced from databases in a timely and thoughtful manner

  • Proven track record of collaboration and being able to work with flexible direction

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Motivated, resourceful self-starter

  • Positive, solution-oriented

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Masters in a quantitative field ideal

  • Natural collaborator who enjoys being a part of a team and is able to teach team members how to collaborate most effectively with different stakeholders and partners

  • Comfortable navigating and balancing multiple viewpoints

  • Willingness to learn and try new approaches

  • Nimble and flexible when it comes to juggling multiple priorities, projects and deadlines
