Assistant Art Director


The Assistant Art Director is responsible to help develop and execute all creative marketing materials, with strong e-comm focus, for Tommy Hilfiger North America, as well as key global initiatives.


  • Develop, concept and create all branding needs for TOMMY while maintaining brand standards and adhering to existing branding guidelines

  • Oversee design creation of all seasonal collateral materials such as e-comm emails, landing pages, mailers, in store signage, packaging design, internal communication emails, North America brand identity and shoot documents, e-comm etc. for TH anchor stores and wholesale in collaboration with wholesale partners

  • Support Senior Art Director with creative concepting for all North America seasonal photoshoots

  • Offer on set art direction support for Macy’s e-comm, Still Life and internal photo-shoots.

  • Oversee post-production of seasonal videos and photography, communicating creative feedback to external retouching partners

  • Manage and oversee the design creation of all packaging design projects supporting PVH Underwear and other licensee packaging needs

  • Work closely with Senior Digital Art Director for consistent integration and approval of all branding guidelines.

  • Ability to follow agency supplied branding guidelines and coach designers on adhering to such guidelines

  • Follow and re-inforce studio’s processes and brand guidelines on a day-to -day basis

  • Lead daily creative status meetings and communicate timeline dependencies to Senior Art Director

  • Coach, lead and inspire team of junior designers

  • Ensure a healthy, positive and collaborative atmosphere is always in place within the team as well as other interdepartmental team interactions


  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an Assistant Art Director capacity in Fashion / Luxury

  • College Degree in Graphic Design required

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Strong creative conceptualization and presentation skills

  • UX/UI design background

  • Must have experience managing retouching, creating retouching briefs and working with external retouching vendors on mark ups and artistic direction

  • Packaging design experience in both design and print production

  • Excellent layout and typographic skills with strong emphasis on of front of book pages, digital elements and corporate identity design

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other teams

  • Managing experience leading team of junior designers

  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs

  • Strong web animation and interactive design skills

  • Ability to take direction and support Senior Art Director on photo-shoot needs

  • Ability to manage within timelines and budgets while maintaining overall concept and brand integrity to high quality standards

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

  • Must be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator as well as other Adobe Creative Creative Cloud design programs

  • Ability to be incredibly creative under tight deadlines

  • An eager, proactive and completely committed attitude, natural leadership and coaching skills

  • Willingness to jump in and help out when needed – team player attitude

  • Experience with Sketchapp, After Effects and video editing is a plus
