Store Design Planner - PVH Corp.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for the planning and development of PVH Brand design elements and projects. Responsible for producing, or coordinating the production of, assigned space-planning and construction document projects, of moderate complexity levels, with appropriate accuracy.

  • Responsible to deliver projects with minimal supervision, while meeting scheduled production goals. Deliver accurate construction documents and information on a timely basis with strict attention to detail Development of designs that reflect basic code compliance: architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy; and basic construction details.

  • Able to effectively utilize all resources in Store Design& Planning dept; including code library, plan archives, photo library, shop drawings, etc. to obtain pertinent information for accurate completion of assigned projects. Manage 20-30 projects at a time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Produce assigned space-planning and/or construction document projects according to schedule deadlines

  • Coordinate consultant assigned space-planning and construction document projects according to schedule deadlines

  • Complete store layouts, or special assignments, of average complexity to ensure design and division goals are met.

  • Provide assistance to problem resolution to construction, permitting, and code related, issues for assigned projects.

  • Complete building department revision assignments of average complexity to ensure design and division goals are maintained.

  • Prepare and present prototypical store design layouts, or concepts, to Dept Management team, Divisional Visual Vice Presidents, etc.

  • Utilize all department design information and code resources to effectively complete accurate designs sets.

  • Provide assistance and problem resolution to Operations Coordinators, Construction Project Managers and contractors to ensure accuracy of design and company standards.

  • Update and maintain division prototypical drawings and files. Provide communication on updated specification information to dept on a timely basis.

  • Travel to store locations or consultant offices, independently, as required, to resolve construction document issues and/or review newly implemented design concepts.

  • Interact with and develop supportive relationships with all related departments, to achieve and insure accurate and timely corporate updates and results.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience

  • Knowledge of architectural design, construction technology, building and life safety codes, and general building permit requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent in Interior Design or Architecture

Skills:

  • Strong oral, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills: oral, written and visual.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of architectural design, construction technology, project supervision of retail facilities, building and life safety codes, and general building permit requirements.

  • Retail design and construction experience of new stores, renovations and fixture development.

  • Space planning skills.

  • Strong AutoCAD and Sketch Up experience.

  • Business software skills including Word and Excel.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with average complexities
