ServiceNow QA Automation Engineer
Work together with the IT Service Management team to support the development and configuration of a number of functional areas including, Incident Management, Service Catalog, Change Management, Problem Management, Knowledge Management, Asset Management, Configuration Management, ESS Portal and Reporting.
Develop Test Automation Strategy.
Specify and help build appropriate test environments.
Perform problem solving and root cause analysis when defects occur.
Engage Application Development in defect resolution.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the Operations organization.
Support and provide constructive feedback on existing processes and standards.
Research and evaluate new testing technologies and tools.
Evaluate and recommend process or technical changes to partners & vendors..
Perform functional, integration, and regression testing for new and existing software, systems, and applications.
Verify that software, systems, and applications function according to user requirements and conform to established guidelines.
Develop test plans and manage all activities within a test plan to ensure objectives are met and solution works as expected.
Follow and execute test schedules and plans providing management with updates or variances to the plan.
Ensure testing system defects are documented, assigned, communicated, and appropriately resolved.
Recommend program improvements or corrections.
Coordinate user acceptance testing with end users.
Verify that all scheduled testing is completed in accordance with schedules.
Perform code migration, versioning, and standards verification in the test environment.
Ensure all impacted departments and individuals are coordinated with and represented.
Identify change risks and prepare mitigation plans.
Provide first level assistance for issue resolution.
Assist with the implementation of new application software into the testing environments.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience working within a wide variety of automated testing tools, including CapIO, Selenium, JUnit, Jmeter and other open-source projects.
Experience with performance, load and concurrency testing is required to ensure application scalability and reliability
Able to analyze root cause of performance issues and provide corrective actions
Able to develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing
6+ years of experience in design, implementation and testing of applications on ServiceNow platform
4+ years of experience testing workflow and UI customizations of ServiceNow including ability to create and edit work flows.
5+ years Web Services Integration (REST, SOAP, and JSON)
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field is required.
ITIL 2011 Foundation (or above) certification is required.
Strong technical knowledge of test automation tools used with ServiceNow development.
Experience testing integration of ServiceNow and external systems (Monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk, SCOM, Tivoli; Legacy systems such as SAP, JDA and Ariba.
Experience in internal, external, and Sarbanes-Oxley audits and with security incident management/resolution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain and document the technology strategies to diverse audiences including technical, business, and executive leadership.
Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when required.
Ability to work under tight schedules.
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
Internal: All levels across IT organization and other business departments as needed.
External: Technology vendors and consultants.
No formal budgetary responsibility. Understands how to manage within project budgets.
Facilitate key decision making regarding validity of quality management strategies and solutions for successful support of the ServiceNow platform.
Adaptability to adapt to changing trends and/or business demands. Strong analytical mindset is required. Can bring a new perspective on current processes in order to develop innovative solutions in a timely manner.
