Dashboard Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position, as a member of the Business Intelligence & Database team, will assist in the development of Dashboards within our Big Data Analytics Platform. Seeking a Tableau developer to create enterprise-level data analytics, within a multi-data source environment, supporting all levels of business operations. Must have a working knowledge of Tableau architecture/development and SQL Server, and experience in providing clients with reports, dashboards, and analytics using these tools. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse work load in a fast paced environment

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Must have the ability to create, standardize, and support technology platforms using Tableau.

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, data visualizations, and complex reports, based on business requirements, leveraging Tableau based on KPI definitions and dashboard designs

  • Design and build performance-optimized Tableau data extracts

  • Manage a repository of re-usable data visualization templates and views

  • Analyze large data sets and extract patterns that lead to greater customer insight, optimized performance, enhanced engagement, improved retention, increased revenue and decreased cost

  • Work with business partners and management teams to the ensure collection and analysis of appropriate data and metrics to facilitate improvements in processes and profit

  • Work with executives and leadership teams to formulate hypotheses and design research aimed at improving key performance indicators

  • Utilize expertise in data modeling, ETL architecture, and report design for department initiatives, and produce detailed documentation including data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as needed

  • Participate in the review of code and/or systems for proper design standards, content and functionality.

  • Participate in all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle

  • Adhere to established source control versioning policies and procedures

  • Meet timeliness and accuracy goals.

  • Communicate status of work assignments to stakeholders and management.

  • Responsible for technical and production support documentation in accordance with department standards and industry best practices.

  • Maintain current knowledge on new developments in technology-related industries

  • Participate in corporate quality and data governance programs

  • Gather and Develop business and technical requirements

  • Analyze large data sets to determine trends

  • Ensure quality specifications are met with all dashboards

  • Good problem solving acumen

  • Ability to easily communicate complex problem solving ideas

  • Create visualization solutions based on requirements which involve analytics and correlation analysis.

  • Create KPIs detailing the findings from the analysis.

  • Identify and document issues, gaps, and concerns of the users

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics

  • 5+ years hands-on development experience with Tableau

  • Strong experience designing and building Tableau reports and dashboards

  • Strong experience with Tableau Desktop and Web (Tableau Server a plus)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and Sql knowledge is necessary

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
